Unable to lock irregular View Ports

I am unable to lock irregularly shaped view ports, also my right click does not work for locking any view ports. It works on older versions of AutoCAD.

Select the viewport and either on the properties palette set it to lock
or on the status bar to the right of "VP Scale" click on the padlock icon
to lock or unlock the viewport

was the viewport clipped?? if so then use the VPclip command again and
select the viewport and then it will ask you to for polygon or delete select
delete..... then remake the viewport.... but I think you might have a
viewport on top of a viewport.

To all - Especially base1000,

When you have an irregular viewport, AutoCAD creates a polyline that is uses
as the clipping object and it is grouped with the viewport. If you select
that irregular viewport and check the properties palette, you will find that
TWO objects are selected! This automatic grouping and selection makes the
RC default to a generic menu and the status bar lock unavailable. You have
to access the display lock through properties... select the viewport, choose
the dropdown at the top of properties to select only the viewport
properties, and set the display lock.

Irregular means it is not a square viewport. If I use this kind of viewport I can not lock it in any way, also I do not have two viewports on top of each other. Also no one has answered why my right mouse button does not work to lock viewports, the older versions of AutoCAD worked just fine regarding this.
