tough time with scheduling an external drawing

drawing #1 (xref) - floor plan with blocks for doors (drawn by others) and i've added a property set that applies to blocks to all of the door instances. no problem. drawing #2 (sheet) i created a schedule table based on the property set definition that i created in the xref. no problem. when i create the schedule (don't select any objects because i want to schedule the external drawing #1) it's fine, when i change the field to select an external drawing, then i select the file.....i get nothing. i update the table and i still get nothing. i copy and paste the schedule into the xref itself and i'm able to schedule the doors no problem. if i copy a door into the sheet i can schedule that. i have no unresolved xrefs in xref or the sheet. i have no filters (just a "*" in that field under the schedule properties.) i'm stumped. the table is set to apply to block references. the property set applies to block references (i wouldn't have been able to create the table style otherwise.) what am i missing? i've tried setting the filter to *|a-door and *door just to see if it would trigger something (all of the blocks are on a-door in the xref - i confirmed that.)

any helpful ideas would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

just a thought - have you ticked search blocks as well as xref's in the
schedule properties?

i had tried toggling that field - it automatically changes scan blocks and scan xrefs when you select Schedule External Drawing and change it to YES.

Perhaps post a drawing w/ a door and a drawing w/ the schedule so we can take a look.
