Spatially Located BIM Model

Besides the fact that it isn't common practice for Architects to create their models/plans according to the correct orientation and location on the site, is there anything specific in AutoCAD Architecture 2010 that will corrupt/disrupt the actual BIM model if created at its true coordinates?

I realize the scale factor between the BIM and Civil Models aren't the same, but if you can locate the building corners in Civil 3D and bring that outline into the BIM model, it will scale it and locate it at the correct location so that when referencing back and forth both models will line up properly without having to physically move either model...

One thing about ACA and AutoCAD in general is that if your model is too far away from the WCS 0,0,0, things can get wary.  I don't see any problems with a one-time-only setup of correct insertion point, rotation, and scale factor.

Definately recommend against that. Have tried it in the past and ACA has issues with the model not being close to 0,0. It's also easier to work on a model if it's aligned with the x-y axies if possible. You can always xref the model into a blank file, move and align it to match the civil building outline. Then when it comes time to give them a file, export that one to acad, which will bind the xref.
