Slab Edge

Hey everyone,

I'm putting together a roof slab with the following elements...

- 1-1/2" Metal Roofing.........................................Top
- Roofing Membrane
- 5/8" Recovery Board
- 4" Rigid Insulation Board
- 4" Rigid Insulation Board (8" total)
- 10mil Vapor Retarder
- 1/2" Gyp Board
- 3" Metal Deck.................................................Bottom

With the following properties...

- Slope of 1.5:12
- Plumb cut from Roofing Membrane through the 3" Metal Deck.
- 1-1/2" Metal Roofing shall extend 6-1/2" beyond the edge of the other components (all four sides).

My question...
Is it possible to do this with one slab object, or would it be better to do it with multiple? I've developed a composite slab with all of the components, but can't figure out how to extend the 1-1/2" metal deck past the other components.

Thanks in advance,
Dan

You can't extend any componants. It kinda makes having componants a bit
redundant in my mind. Unless you can add it to the end style and put up
with the line.

You could try a body modifier to add the extension. Might only want to do
it where a section is cut for the effort.

I'm curious.
Around here a 1.5:12 slope would be plenty for the metal roof alone to serve
as roofing. Why the roofing memrane, recovery board, which seems like it
shouldn't be on new insulation anyway and then another vapor barrier etc.?

Have you tried a slabedge style to extend the metal roofing?

Hey Doug,

Don't ask me the specifics, haha. I'm "just" a CAD Tech, but I'd venture a guess that it has to do with weather conditions where we're at. We're located in central Alaska and from what I've picked up so far, this seems like a pretty common roof design around here.

And yes, I've tried a slab edge style. Whether or not I was trying correctly is a different question.

This is what you can do with a roofedgestyle, using a facia profile. Make
sure you uncheck "Auto-adjust to edge height" in the slabedgestyle
