refedit help acad architecture 2011

Help my file is stuck in refedit mode.  I can't select anything exept a couple of blocks and everything else is greyed out.  I close and reopen the file and it is still the same. Audit and purge everything with no change.  Regenall does not change the file.

 

Autocad architecture 2011

Win 7 pro 64 bit

Dell Precision T3500

Xeon 2.8 GHz

12.0 GB

 

 

refclose command does not work.

Found it.  All the layers were locked except one.  For some reason they stayed locked after closing the refedit command.
