Realistic View problem

HI All,

Having problems with realistic views. Have a model and when I have the terrain model loaded the graphics go all screwy - The attache JPGS have the terain mdoel attached (capture.jpg) and detatched (capture2.jpg). When the terrain is detatched, the result is immedaite - no need to re-draw\regen ??

The terrain model is a model of 3D faces created by the survey data. There is about 50,000 3Dfaces in the terrain This happens on all our machines thats range from Quad core with 8Gb and standard graphics to our Core I7 with 32BG and 2Tb graphics gard.

Have tried another terrain model which we created using a drape over contours and get the same result.

I assume it is some system settings to limit processing power - any ideas ???????? I'm getting a little desperate on this one 🙂

It might help if you posted a small part of the drawing that has the problem.  If we can reproduce the problem, it might eliminate your hardware as an issue.

I've had similar issues in 3ds max and that related to texture correction but that doesn't apply here.

Thank you for your post.  In this case the issue could be linked to hardware but maybe something specific in the file can be found (as “dbroad” has indicated as well).  One additional influence could be third party coding built on top of the core code affecting overall communication of the data.  I mention this due to the note of them in your screen shots.

If you could post a sample drawing we could take a look and see what could be found.  Thank you.

I can't see how hardware can be an issue. It's a database type link ???

anywaye I have attached 2 projects - A was created first and then C was created by making a nex project using A as the template.

I have attached a screen shot of the path for the data link for the noth elevation. This is what you see when in project C. Notice it references project A and if you change the view name in project C it won't change. It appears to be hard pathed also even though I use relative pathing for the whole project ???
