Railing Style - Bogging things down

Fellows...tried to make a custom railing style, but found that it is seriously bogging down the system.  Does anyone have any advise on this.  This raling stand simply has a custom block for the balusters, with a starndard, probably not so great railing...but good enough for now.

Would appreciate your suggestions for making this a more effecient style.
