Old Attached Files Gone?

Attachments to threads made prior to the changeover in login (and forum format) are no longer accessible. I tried to reply to one of those threads and reattach the file I had originally attached (a ZIP file) and kept getting "error uploading file" messages.

1. Was the error because the file upload feature is not fully activated yet?

2. Is the deletion of attachments made prior to 9/22/2008 permanent, or are they still "there" but not fully processed?

David,

It must be a web interface thing. Everything seems to be intact when
viewed from a newsreader.

Thanks for the reply. It appears that attachments have sorted themselves out - at the very least, I can see image attachments on several recent posts (although now they insist on opening up in a separate application, rather than in my browser window), a DWG attachment on at least one post, and the ZIP file that I could not find last night is now there. (I did not try downloading it, however - I suppose I should go back and test that.
