After sellecting the line ,the " LENGTH" in the object property can't be highlighted and modified. Although there are other values in the panel that are not locked and can be modified. what would be the reason.

Which end would AutoCAD elongate?  To change length use the lengthen command.

but trying to modify the length from the property panel as i explained. the LENGH is not clickable unlike the other values in the panel.

Perhaps you misunderstood my reply.  I was explaining why AutoCAD will not accept entry for changes in length for lines.  If you want to change the length of the line, use the lengthen command.  Given your illustration though, I would suggest changing your view to an orthographic elevation view and using the stretch command to change the entire figure.  If the object had been a wedge solid, you could have changed the height.
