No such thing exists: sadly you cannot share AEC content (including AEC dimensions) intact between 2013 and 2011.
Do you both (in both programs in the shared files) have PROXYOBJECTS variable turned on and actively saved in the file? That's about all you can do to just 'see' content.
Also ensure this is not a CANNOSCALE problem: file was ceated say in 1/8" scale and you are looking at it in 1/4" scale.
