Multi-View Blocks rendering through viewport

When I pick rendered for my shadeplot on a viewport, none of the materials applied to multi-view blocks show up.  Is this common or is there a fix?

Thank you,

TS

You have to edit the individual block, or blocks, within the multiview block and apply the material to the Render Display Representation.

Thanks Kathy, but all of the blocks that make up the MVB already have materials assigned to them, if that's what you're refering to (material selection under 3D Visualization on the properties palette).  I'm not familiar with the rendered display representation, please clarify.

Use the block editor to open one of the blocks within the multiview blocks.    The block itself can contain 1 to many different types of AEC objects (masses,  structural members, etc.) as well as AutoCAD solids and surfaces.   Each of the AEC objects  within the block needs to have a material assigned to the Render Display Representation.  This can be done within the block editor (cumbersome if you have much to do) or it can be changed using the Style Manager.  If, for example, one of the objects is a mass element, select the object and right-click to edit the style, then select the Materials tab.    If no material is selected at all, then none have been assigned to any display reps for this object.  If a material is assigned, select the icon at the upper right to edit the material, which will bring up another dialog box with 2 tabs: General and Display Properties.   Select the Render Display Rep. and then click the upper right icon to edit the Display Properties.  The material is selected on the Other tab.   Blocks are often comprised of multiple objects and styles, so make sure that you make the change for every different object inside the block.    If you have any AutoCAD solids or surfaces, which is probably not your case, you can set the material for those objects via the Properties Palette, materials by layer.
