Multi-leader Objects

Hi Everyone,

I started using the multi-leader objects today. I really like them but I
just ran into a problem. I set up several details with multi-leaders for
notes. Then I e-mailed them to a consultant that is on ACAD 2006. I sent
him two files; one saved using the Export to 2004 command; and the other
saved using the Save As (2004) command. When he opens either of the files
he can see the notes and leaders, but he can't edit them. They appear as
proxies. He can explode them, but the leaders become single lines
including the leader head which becomes a three point pline with no fill.
If I expode the multi-leaders with Arch2008, then the leaders again become
separate line (the only difference is the leader head becomes a solid object
instead of a pline).

Does anyone know if there any way to automatically convert all the
multi-leader objects into mtext and leaders (not lines)?

Juan

It would seem that's a feature you do not use if you share
files with lower versions: same experience here.

actually,

when sharing data with a Consultant,
I'd actually *prefer* this functionality.

Why does the Consultant need to edit your annotation(s)?

Mulit-Leaders didn't exist in 2004 and aren't related to AutoCAD leaders -
they are a new AutoCAD entity. That's whay they display as proxy objects in
earlier releases.

I hope that helps,
Dennis

Is there some type of a workaround?
