I have read the following post:
I am still not able to print monochrome. I have typed in covertpstyles in the command line and it takes me to a window explaining about converting to ctb or stb. Then when I select OK I get "Drawing converted from Named plot style mode to Color Dependant mode", wnd nothing seems to change.
I am trying to plot to CutePDF Writer if that helps....
Does your DWG file contain True-color assigned objects?
You know, beyond colors 1-255?
Raster images? 3D assigned textures or colors?
Do you have the little box on the PLOT dialog box checked that notes PLOT WITH PLOT STYLES?
ACA version? Why CutePDF? So it works if you plot to other drivers?
Your post is light on details for remote assistance.
Using AutoCAD Architecture 2012 (US Imperial)
Trying to print a basic 2d plan.
Yes - Plot with Plot Styles is checked (Tried it checked and unchecked)
Using CutePDF because that is what my admin loaded.
Drawing does NOT contain true color assigned objects (colors beyond 1- 255)
No Raster Images.
No 3D assigned textures or colors.
Within the Plot Style Table (pen assignments) window there are 2 options, None and New.
Plot Style Manager opens "MY Docs"
Plotter Manager opens "MY Docs"
I am able to print, but only with color.

Since neither of those are MONOCHROME.CTB, perhaps starting there would be the first fix: ask your admin for help too.

I suspect it's there for all your other apps: AutoCAD has a built-in PDF driver called DWG to PDF.PC3 you can use. Won't solve your issue, it's not related, but the built-in is a better option than the cutey app.

Sounds like your admin is in total control: you two perhaps need to be talking directly.
I figured it out.... This seemed to work. For some reason it wasn't recognizing the existing style and needed to be re-associated. Here are the steps I took....
Go to C:\ProgramData/Autodesk/ACA2012/enu/Plotters/Plot Styles
Select "Add-A-Plot Style Table Wizard"
Check "Use and existing plot style table"
Then in the Page Setup Manager I modified the Plot Style Table to "monochrome.ctb" selected "Apply" and closed out. I can now print in monochrome.
