Loss of functionality

I have a strange one...  Someone came to me this morning and stated that they cannot perform any actions after some time in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 - no zoom, pan, select, etc.  However, functionality seems to return if they perform a save command or close the software.  Any thoughts as to the cause or the solution for this one?

Thank you for any guidance you may provide.

Have you tried to reset the default settings for the program?  This can be done by (for Windows 7):

  • Click Start
  • Select All Programs
  • Select Autodesk
  • Select AutoCAD Architecture 2013
  • Click "Reset Settings to Default".

This will bring up a dialog box where you are asked if you want to save your current settings to a .zip file or to just proceed with the reset.  Once the reset is completed, the program will reopen.

Due to other problems on this machine, I have performed a complete clean install of the software.  I am hopeful that this will fix numerous performance issues on the computer in question, including the loss of functionality described.
