I'm having difficulties with the out-of-the-box "Reference Keynote (Straight Leader)" tool. From ACA help, it sounds like (after selecting the object) this tool should automatically select the keynote of the object's style. E.g., for a window style with a "B2020.B1 Single Casement" keynote assigned to it, the keynote tool should automatically select that keynote. However, the "select keynote" dialog box goes to the very top of the database, or sometimes to an portion of the database unrelated to the object I've selected. So I have to leave my view drawing where I'm inserting the keynote, go the construct containing the object and edit the style to find what the keynote is, then go back to the view file and set the keynote manually.
Am I misunderstanding the way this tool is supposed to work? Or is it not working properly?
