I thought there was away to get Space Generate to ignore walls frozen?

I thought there was a way to get or have the space generate to ignore walls and doors on frozen or turned off layers. For some reason or another I am unable to get that to happen. What am I missing?

If you don't want walls to separate spaces, you should be specifying in the
wall style that it does not bound spaces. Then you don't need to worry
about freezing and thawing layers. I haven't experimented with frozen
layers so can't comment there.
