Help Text on Array Command needs clarification/ Revision

This issue arose when I tried to find out what happened to the Array dialog box (That's a whole other thread). Typing the phrase “array dialog box” into the cloud netted this result: (see attached image.)

You will notice that I am in exchange which is the default help system. You will also notice that it is referring me to the help system that it replaced and by all indications, no longer exists. Further I have read that there is no longer an Array Dialog Box, with which to reference in the nonexistent AutoCAD Help. What the text should say is,” There is no Dialog box for the array command in 2012.” And perhaps it should espouse the benefits, features, and reasoning for this new tool. It might also be worth noting that on my system at least, when you click on “Related Topics” at the top of the page, it returns a blank page. This makes Help, no so helpful.

In conversations in the thread ; Wishes about AutoCAD 2012 Help Documents, It was suggested that the feedback methodology for the new help system was to post missives in the discussion groups. I think that, that is not going to be fruitful. The boards are full of rants and feedback is not guaranteed. I need to know that my issue has been read by an Autodesk employee and not just 20 other users who have the same issue. While this is great for validation, it is not good for resolution. Feedback for help system issues should be at the source page and should be responsive. When a misleading, incorrect, or erroneous help item is reported, the user needs to know that the item has been recognized, a solution is  or is not being sought, and what the solution or correction is. Otherwise you may as write your issue on a piece of paper and tie it to a balloon.

I could open a support case, but I don’t really think that that is what that process is for. In the mean time a cloud based help system has the potential to be a fantastic resource, but only if it has a process for updating and correcting, otherwise it will be just as flawed as the CHM was.

Thanks for the feedback and for bringing this to our notice. I would escalate your feedback to the development team and ask them to make the correction to the help file.

It would great if you could provide feedback about this feature in the below link. This would help also help us to analysis your feedback and use it for development. To provide feedback please follow the below link:

Providing feedback will help the development team to review them and help them to enhance the product in future.
