Not really sure what to call this in English, but in the picture below you see the problem. If I make a little 'jump' in my wall that is to small I get piece of solid hatch where it should be the same as the 2 wals on either side of it. We are on ACA 2012 since a few weeks and never had this in 2008 (just tried it to check). Any of you have any idea?
My fix for this is to edit the display properties of the small wall segment. Select the short wall, right pick and select 'Edit Object Display...' then edit the display properties to make the hatch component not visible as appropriate for your wall's style.
Sure we could do that, but that is a lot of work for all those little pieces of wall and there is the risk of forgetting one or two. It also is not a good idea to ask all my users to do stuff like that as they expect things to just work.

Don't know what the specific technical reasons are... I speculate that it has to do with the hatch pattern not being able to replicate within the object. If you look at your example, the hatch pattern would only go through the short wall once. Perhaps when an object can not contain a hatch pattern's repetition, it defaults to solid.
Yes thats is basically what happens, because if I change the scale of the hatch to make it smaller than it seems to be going OK, but then when I make the piece of wall smaller again the grey solid appears again.
So for now I just turn of that hatch for that piece of wall, but it is not the optimum solution.
The hatch is displayed solid, when the area is too small. Instead of an empty area, because there is nothing that could be displayed, in 2012 you will see the solid. The reason is/was to make it easy to discover empty hatch areas.
2013 will add a new variable here "HPMAXAREA", if this is set to 0, there will be no hatch visible. So you can decide to see nothing or the solid hatch.

So the only solution right now is to go over every piece of wall I have displayting a solid and turn the hatch of in the object display?
I would say It depends on how many walls are affected. For a few I would change it manually, but if there are many I would create a new style and use this for the small walls.
