Generating spaces from wall outlines, not from the baselines

Is it normal behaviour that spaces are generated only from the walls' baselines? I need spaces to be generated only from the net floor area. 

Is there a setting to instruct ACA to generate the spaces only by the outlines of walls and not have them overlap the walls up to the baselines? I think in previous versions, like ADT 2007 spaces were generated by the outlines, not by the baselines of walls. Can this be controlled or do I have to put up with a lot of manual adjustment of all the auto-generated spaces?
