Excel spreadsht in AutoCAD

I am inserting Excel spreadshts using the TABLE command which is really straight forward but the table does not keep the border settings I created in Excel. ACA also changes the font size in a couple of cells. So, I fix everything the ACA the way I want to see it and the next time I update the date, bang, everything goes back to the way it was. Is this just one more thing that doesn't work in ACA08?

If I type DATALINK, it shows it is linked, so how does OLE Object benefit me?

with table you are creating a table from a table so it is going to reformat
the spreadsheet. With OLE object it insert the WORD or spreadsheet in to the
file like a image and can maintain a link to the file so updates show.
Everything you format in the word or spreadsheet is maintained. You can make
changes to the ole object if not linked in AutoCAD by double clicking it.

Using OLE limits you to just ONE page so that is not a very good option

Go to your xcel file. Paint what you want to bring over. Choose the "copy" command.

Go to your DWG file. Choose "paste special", choose the bottom radio button.

You can either dbl click the spreadsheet from your cad file, or just edit it yourself from the xcel file.

Keep in mind. your copying rows and cols, so if you add a row or col to the spreadsheet, you'll have to redo the process to pick up the new rows and cols

That comes in as one page but you are unable to break the pages like you can with the TABLES command.

That's a non issue for me. You can cut and paste as many regions as you
want and the scaling is consistent. Just arrange them as you wish.

Since you've had a chance to discover the limitations of what you can do
with autocad/aca alone, consider buying a real solution that actually works
the way you want it:

Actually Dean, I have that software but need to upgrade to use with ACA08. And your right, it works great unlike most of the things in ACA. After 15+ years with AutoCAD, ACA08 is the most buggy piece of CRAP I have every used
