Door Styles

Is there an online site for downloading free door styles. Simple stuff like hollow metal framed doors etc.

Thanks,

Keith

Should I assume you have checked in content.
I would have thought that style was in there.

Well...sort of. To be honest I am just getting used to '09. New job.
At the old place we had several door styles with custom blocks and they worked really well.
The new styles OOTB so to speak are all dependent on display reps which can be worked around but is just cumbersome.
The standard 'Work' setting is just a rectangle. You have to go to Display Reps and its in Plan, High Detail & you have to turn off the standard frame. Just a pain.
I was just hoping an old site would pop up with a lot of shared stuff but that seems to be less available these days.

Thanks for the reply.

BTW I have most of the styles we use done now.

mmmm.... I would call custom blocks a work around and using the display reps
the easy way!
Turn off std frame? std is just a rectangle as you say. Whats to turn off?
Maybe I don't get where you want to get to.
Oh.....maybe you mean in plan view? I think most are happy with the rect
and just have the elevation / model views show the door style (& schedule).

Thanks, Nathan.
Again, I have been out of pocket for over a year.
Anyway, I know some think it's irrelevant, but we used to have our door styles reflect the actual door in plan. At 1/8" scale it doesn't really show up but at 1/4" it does. Anyway, in house it was a reminder to all working on the drawings of the condition you were looking at. After all a metal frame door is detailed differently than a storefront for instance. It's also a reminder of the importance of frame depth. Workflow is changing with the program and I need to catch up! Sometimes the 'bells and whistles' don't really seem to help much in my never to be humble opinion. I don't mind new displays that give us flexibility, I just wish the default was what we've seen for many years instead of having to 'tweak' it to reflect your comfort zone.
Thanks again, though. I'll trudge on!

Keith

BTW, I set the display rep. to Plan High detail and in the dialog was the AEC_HM_Frame blocks. However, with the drawing set to 'Work' they still didn't show up. Edited by: calfcreek_2 on Oct 29, 2009 12:48 PM
