Does ACA (or vanilla '08?) have a memory leak?

In a span of about 2.5 hours today I opened, worked on, and closed about 300
drawings.
The last 30 minutes of that time span I opened, made one change, and closed
about 100 drawings. I was planning on doing 160 at the end there, but after
about 100 I went to open the next group (5 drawings) and it gave me an out
of memory error and asked if I'd like to abort or retry to open the selected
files.
The largest group I had open all morning was 10 drawings at once.

I'm wondering if ACA has a slow memory leak that eats up resources and
doesn't release them until a point where the software just can't continue?
Anyone else run into something similar?
I'd never run into this with ADT'05 (our previous version) on my old
computer (which was about 1/4 the computer this new one is), but I'm not
sure I'd ever actually opened and closed as many drawings in '05 as I did
today.

My computer specs:
XP Pro
Intel Dual Core cpu 2.66mhz
4gb ram
256mb ATI Radeon X1300Pro video

You opened and closed ACA 100 times? or just opened and closed files while
in the one session of ACA?

Are you sure you are only opening one session of ACA at a time?
double-clicking files from Windows Explorer, unless you changed it manually,
tends to open more than one session of ACA by default for some reason.

I was in a single session of ACA. I don't use explorer to open my files, I
would shift-select groups of files in the "open" dialog box and open them
that way. I always only run one session of ACA at a time. That's kinda why
this caught me so off-guard.

I can't say I've ever done what you did, might have to try it and see: I
have same spec PC here.

ah, cool. Let me know if you run into anything similar.

Paul,

I doubt it is the same issue but I have found 08 does leak memory. I have
not had that problem for years but for some reason 08 continues to grab
memory throughout the day until you have to close out ACA and reopen or it
will eventually crash. I doubled the memory in one of my older machines and
it does the same thing.

Could be something it does not like in my system or template or wherever but
I have not encountered this problem with other versions. In fact I still
use 06 quite often due to some large older projects and it is still rock
solid.

Not that it helps because I don't know the solution.
