Custom Recipes

I am attempting to edit my detail database and tried to edit the steel beams. It has a custom recipe. It states you can't use the wizzard and refer to the users guide for more information. I have read it several times now and it is more for starting from scratch I would like to modify the existing. Could someone help or send in the correct direction.
