Changing the insert scale of content

I normally work in mm. When I insert content from the content browser everything is fine.

Sometimes I need to work in metres, When I insert content it comes in at the wrong scale. Can I change the scale so that content inserts at the units I am using.

INSUNITS variable perhaps? Also explore -DWGUNITS (note the dash).
