hi, people who use autocad architectural
i.ve never try architectural but i would like to know something about it from you users
i work in the curtain wall and other aluminium framing industry
i have the product design suite premium, so i have autocad, autocad mech and inventor
but i've notice in another suite that the package include autocad architectural instead of the autocad electrical that come with my suite wich i never use
so what i want to know is what are the tools in architectural for curtain walls and how it work
how bout the detail, cant you extract part list, glass/panel list
i've seen a video or two of a corner curtain wall but beside that nothing...
so i've you have 2 min to tell me about the feature for curtain wall in autocad architectural
tell me about what you like/not etc...
Hi,
did you check out the AutoCAD Architecture 2013 helpfile on the curtain walls - ses here:
I hope this helps.
The out-of-the-box tools for Curtain Walls would be good for showing the architectural design intent. While you might be able to customize the content to suit your needs, I would not say that the out-of-the-box content is set up to produce shop drawing level detailing, at least not directly in the Curtain Wall object itself.
I have never had the need to try to do a material takeoff based on an ACA Curtain Wall, so I am not certain how easy or how hard that might be. I do not know that information on total mullion/frame lengths is very easy to schedule or extract, either.

? Read the recommendation for ACA in AUGI mag but they seem to mention only Acad so I'll let you investigate.
