AutoCAD 2012 crashes when loading a project

We are using AutoCAD Architecture 2012. Recently all of our designers are having problems with AutoCAD crashing when a project is selected to open.

Also, crashing when editing text.

Any suggestions?

You may also want to install the Big Font Hotfix to see if the text editing crash then subsides.

The fix was successful. We removed the windows updates and had our IS department block them on the server.
