Hi, I have a problem with my ACAD Architecture. When I get into a viewport to modify a drawing and I try to zoom in or out there is a 5-6 second lag every single time. Also when I switch to another drawing within acad there is a 5-6 sec. lag. The same happens when I undo which is even worst because sometimes it can take up to 10 seconds until it starts undoing, however, after the first lag I can keep undoing with no lags at all. I have the following system:
Core 2 Duo 2GB RAM @ 2.33GHz
Win XP Pro (SP-3)
Video Card: Nvidia quadro NVS 290
Hard Drive 148GB (109GB free)
My computer is not slow at all I can do many task with no problem except for ACAD. I re-installed the program once and it fixed the problem temporarily but now is back to the same status. If anyone has had this problem and found a fix for it please share or if you have an idea or suggestion of what the problem might be please share. It would definitely be complimented and appreciated.
Are you using ACAD 2010? I recall that had a lot of lag behaviors of the sort you describe. Most were gone in 2011 release.
Well I am actually using ACAD 2010 but I guess I can try updating if you say it fix those issues. It is very annoying when you are trying to breeze through projects last minute or when showing something and these lags just happen. Very frustrating. But thanks for your opinion and I will try your suggestion.
Search back, there are a number of posts about lag.
Having certain palletes open - layer, materials
Simple things like having the lineweight showing.
Two items that I have found to cause slowness are discussed in this blog article:
