ACA2013 AEC walls not showing up in 3ds Max

I've drawn a residence in AutoCAD architecture using AEC walls and when I xref my drawing into 3ds Max to add lighthing and textures, the walls do not show up. I've done this on previous projects and there were no issues.

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated

You might be more likely to get an answer if you post to the AutoCAD Architecture forum. This is the forum for vanilla AutoCAD.

What version of 3DS MAX?

I'm using 3ds 2011. Could it be that I'm using 32 bit 3ds and 64 bit ACA?

Hi,

I guess you saved the AutoCAD Architecture drawing in 2010 file format and used it in 3ds Max 2011. Is that correct?
Try the following, in ACA 2013 set the variable PROXYGRAPHICS to 1, switch to an isometric view and save the file again in 2010 DWG format.
You can also use the command FBXEXPORT in AutoCAD Architecture 2013 to create an FBX file and import it in 3ds Max.
There was a file format change for AutoCAD 2013, 2012-2010 uses the 2010 format. Because of this change the AEC objects are displayed as proxy elements in older releases.
If there is 3ds Max 2013 available to you, this would be the best choice to use your AutoCAD Architecture 2013 file.

Barbara
