Xref causing Text Style to Automatically Change

Hello,

I have received a file from another office. We are using it as an xref in our files. For some reason as soon as this file gets xref'ed into a sheet, it changes the appearance of our standard Text Style. It also causes any other open drawings to exhibit the same change! If I click on any Mtext to edit it, it has the correct style and font definitions and appears fine, but as soon as I close the edit box, it changes appearance. The font should be Romans but it appears as something else... Has anyone seen this before? I saw another post abouch checking Z values, I tried that, no change.
