Where are eTransmit "Transmittal Setups" stored when using Sheet Set Manager?

If you are not using Sheet Set Manager, the eTransmit "Transmittal Setups" are found in the Registry here:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R19.1\ACAD-D006:409\ETransmit\setups\Record Documents]

But where are they saved when you access eTransmit through SSM?  The list of Setups found in that eTransmit command is different than the list of Setups in my Registry that appear when you invoke eTransmit by the command line.

May I ask what is your ultimate intent will be?

Ideally I would like to create 5 or so transmittal setups for our different scenarios, and have those Setups available in all of our +/- 3000 projects which each have their own DST files.

So in a perfect world, these settings are based in the Registry as well, so that we dont have to individually handle each DST file.

Even better would be to have those 5 or so transmittal setups available to both DST projects and individual DWG etransmits - but this part is not necessary, just would be an added bonus.

Hi Dtiemeyer,

You are correct, they are not stored in the registry, but  actually stored per DST file. Meaning, if I created a new transmittal setup in one Sheet Set and then switched to a different Sheet Set that setup would not be automatically included.

You can however import setups from other DST files (see attached Image1):

  1. Right-click the Sheet Set and choose Transmittal Setups
  2. Click Import
  3. Browse to and select the DST file that includes the setups you need
  4. Check the setups you would like to import
  5. Click Import checked at the bottom

You can also copy a DST file to the path below. This will make it available as a sample sheet set when a new sheet set is created (you can also choose your own location and then choose "Browse to another sheet set to use as example").

C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\R19.1\enu\Template

I took the info you provided on the registry location and tested porting that from one station to another.  You can export the 'Setups' registry entries to a 'Reg' file and import them on another station to add the custom Etransmit setups.

The only caveat I found is that Etransmit must be run at least once on the station for import before merging the Reg file.  That establishes the Etransmit segment in the registry.  Although you might be able to import that whole segment by exporting the Etransmit branch whole.  I'll test that and post an update.

have fun,

After more testing it is possible to export and merge the whole Etransmit branch.  the Caveat is that the file needs to be edited if you are importing to a different flavor of AutoCAD / ACA / Civil 3d etc.  for example:

AutoCAD Architecture will be under a folder node ACAD-E004:409

AutoCAD is under a folder node ACAD-E001:409

as shown below, the nodes that build the registry branches are the headers on each section of the Reg file.  use a Find/Replace to update that pattern from above.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R20.0\ACAD-E004:409\ETransmit]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R20.0\ACAD-E004:409\ETransmit\setups]

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\AutoCAD\R20.0\ACAD-E004:409\ETransmit\setups\Basic-bind-all-one]
"Name"="Basic-bind-all-one"
"PackageType"=dword:00000000

.....

one example file is attached for additional reference. (extension renamed from REG to TXT for site restrictions)

Just a bit of a warning, Windows 11 is a different beast to Windows NT-10 when it comes to AutoCAD... I have just found that the location has moved for the Etransmits now based on the user instead of the computer, for windows 11 e.g.; HKEY_USERS\\S-[bunch of numbers]\\Software\\Autodesk\\AutoCAD\\R24.2\\ACAD-6100:409\\ETransmit\\setups
