VPCLIP bug?

When I clip a viewport with VPCLIP, I notice that after I do it and I get into the viewport to try to work within the viewport, without "Maximizing" it, the crosshair dissapears and is not seen at all.  I can still pick up things, but blindly without the crosshair, and it is very difficult to work that way without the benefit of seeing the crosshair.  (I have the crosshair size to 100).

Is this a bug?  Or a computer issue?

I also notice that after viewclipping the viewport, if I "Maximize" it to work within it, then I can see the crosshair correctly.

My question is, is there a way to see the crosshair after clipping the viewport and working within it without "Maximizing" it?

Hi Octavio,

Are you seeing this in AutoCAD 2015? I was not able to reproduce this behavior, so it could be related to something system specific. Here are some things I would check:

  1. What happens if you use CLIP?
  2. What if you decrease your crosshair size? Try a small size like 10 and see if you can increase
  3. GRAPHICSCONFIG > Disable hardware acceleration
  4. Up to date with service packs? Link: AutoCAD Downloads
  5. Does this behavior happen with all files? Test a new blank drawing

Also, can you create a video of what you are seeing? Here are two free options: Screencast  or Jing

Thanks 🙂

In addition to telling us the version (include if you can what Service Pack/Hot Fix you're on), try posting a sample file.
