Trying to Insert a block into the drawing but can't see it

I am trying to insert a block into the drawing. Selected the right block and picked the insertion point but after clicking the insertion point in the drawing, It is not doing anything. It just doesn't show anything. ALmost tried 20-30 times but still not getting it. Can Someone help me out?

A layer in the block is frozen in the drawing?

or

The block is defined a long way from 0,0 so it is coming in but is way out there,

or

You are getting an error message and not seeing it at the command line.

or

The drawing is not set to the World UCS or the block was created outside of the World UCS.

Those are my guesses.

Could the current layer (the layer the block is being inserted on) be OFF or Frozen?

Thaw and turn on all the file's layers: do your twenty or so inserts suddenly appear? If not, ZOOM EXTENTS, now do you see them?

Start a new file.

Insert your block.

Save the file.

Attach the file here and end all doubt.

Thanks guys for helping me out. I had to change the origin location in the block so that it inserts at the right location. After doing this, I found all the other Inserts which were done before.

>Here< is one example of a routine to give a block a different insertion point.
