trouble with PDF output - some plines broken, text as outlines

I know that this post actually concerns the interface between ACAD and Acrobat but I don't think i've had this problem in previous release. We just switched to 2013, and we are using the latest Acrobat XI -  and PDF plots are rendering my text as outlines (NOT editable as text) and some of my plines are coming in as separate lines (and I wanted to quickly colour some drawings. I have toyed around with some of the settings in PDF custom properties but nothing seems to be working. Anyone have any suggestions???

The Acrobat driver must support this feature: go into it's settings and dig around for a font handling option as text.

The core AutoCAD PDF driver has this option too.

PS: outline fonts also means you are plotting with shading/hidden viewport or with HIDE turned on too: may be a contributing problem.
