Tool Pallette with different versions of my pallette

I create a custom Tool Palette on my machine I copy it to a network drive when I call that pallette up on another machine

sometimes it adds pallettes of the same name with different "versions" of my pallette

You have to also update "Profile.aws" from the below folder:

%appdata%\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\R19.1\enu\support\Profiles\

JCLaidler is correct,  the Profile.aws contains many of the settings/pathing information which is user specific. Typically if one user is accessing a network stored tool palette collection then the Profile.aws from the user who created the palettes should be copied to the other user's roaming folder as well.

So I need to copy it from my machine to each machine

and also will this make every users profile the same or just the tool pallette's the same

Yes, we accomplish that via script.  Example shown below.

xcopy "backup location"\profile.aws "%appdata%\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\R19.1\enu\support\Profiles\<profile name>" /y /s /r

My Users have changed their profiles adding buttons etc....

Will this overwrite them to what my profile is

(my machine is where I created the Tool Pallettes)

which is very generic

We have a 'User Custom' tab, for our users to store any custom blocks/commands.

If you have it setup that way, it shouldn't.

unfortunately we do not have it set up that way (user custom tab)

so in order to use my custom pallettes

everyone will be using the same profile (mine)

or

they will have to spend time and redo any changes they

have made to their profiles and place them on a "user custom" tab

so i guess i need to go back and re-think how to tackle this

Thanks for all your help

Why don't you create the tool palette and export it as a static palette for people to import manually? If you get issues with orders of tools when imported, just order the palette how you want it to appear, copy all of the items on the palette and past onto a brand new named palette and export to a shared location. Lock the folder down and then let people reference that palette by importing it.
