thickening a surface error: object intersects with itself.

I am attempting to create a 3d solid from a set of splines that I have lofted into a NURBS surface. I having difficulties thickening or offseting the drawing. I have also tried to network the surface to create a planar surface with the same resultant failure.  Can someone please help!!!??

Please see below...

Many Thanks

Brian

Hi,

I can confirm that with value 2 the object can't be modified with _THICKEN.

I tried the same procedure with 0.1 and looked then to the object and specially to the upper corners which are hard bended.

As you see the value of 0.1 makes that "corner" kinky, and so more offset ends in the message you get.

(see attached screenshot)
