No!! Use the thumb drive!! We can store the giant service packs/updates later too
Colleague: I borrowed that thumb drive from you bookcase while you were at work. Thanx much, bud.
Eraseable media is not a good place to store important data IMHO. Although DVDs are only good for ~5 years, ADESK will prolly have come out with AutoCAD 2113 by then.
Don't know what's going on but this is what I get when I go from the E-mail telling me to go download 2014
Download the most recent version of your Autodesk software product(s), as well as product enhancements and Autodesk 360 desktop clients.
No Access to Software Download
You do not have access to full product downloads. To request access, please contact your Software Coordinator or Contract Manager.
Download software enhancements and Autodesk 360 desktop clients."
lol i think i know this one (it happened to me). You're the contract manager. You're also the user. However you just can't get to the download page because it sees you as the contract manager... and a contract manager automatically does not have rights to download like a user. Somewhere in the contract manager account setup you can set/grant yourself to have download rights. I tried/clicked on that several times but the web page just did not accept it. So I emailed them and they fixed it for me.
If you don't grant yourself download rights (or they do it for you).... the other way to do it is... be a user! Boot up Autocad, at the top-right log into Autodesk 360 (and ignore those web pages). When back using the Autocad software, click on the triangle icon at the top-right and click "Autodesk Subscription Center" and then it will take you to a web page and you can download the software. (Best is to set/grant yourself the download rights and now you can get to all the software as a user or the contract manager.)
Good wishes to you!!
