Text Height

Seems silly to have a auditable text height box but after you type in the number to change text height it goes back to its auto size.

Can anyone help me to get rid of the auto set?

at the command line enter Style

TEXT Dialog.JPG

if you are using Annotative Mtext styles leave the value @ 0'-0"

if you are using Dtext (single line text) you will be prompted at first placement click to set your text height

dtext command line inputs

Current text style:  "Arial"  Text height:  0'-9"  Annotative:  Yes  Justify:  Left
Specify start point of text or [Justify/Style]:
Specify paper height <0'-0 3/32">:
Value must be positive and nonzero.

Specify paper height <0'-0 3/32">:

Specify rotation angle of text <0.00>:

these settings are based on a model space Annotative scale of  1/8"=1'-0" from a custom template file

keep in mind the text height displayed is based on a precision setting so it may be rounding up to that precision level try changing you precision to 1/256 and see if the value changes.

For what it's worth....we set our default by setting the variable TEXTSIZE at the command line on files that do not use annotative text.
