Snap to 45° instead of "Perpendicular"

So you know how we have the snaps endpoint, perpendicular, midpoint etc....

I want to find something like the snap "perpendicular."

Does anyone know of a way to start a line/pline then have it snap to another line at a 45° angle instead of perpendicular?

The only thing I could find was here

but I am not sure what all they are trying to do...

Also, the lines I am trying to snap to are at random angles so I don't think that polar, ortho, or snapang will help.

At first glance, it appears the consensus it to align the SNAPANGle to the target line...

With the new UCS icon, you could probably just as easily snap the UCS icon perpendicular to the target line and then use polar tracking

... or UCS > Object to do the same thing.
