Silly student question on radii

In the picture attached I am tasked with creating two radii 15mm in size starting at 60mm from the large hole. I can't figure out how to create the tangency to a point and a line it constantly wants to create a circle that is only connected to either one line or the point. In the bottom problem I have to creat four radii 2x R3.50 and 2x R4.25 with no center points again I can't quite figure it out any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to help a new guy.

Jason

Draw it and move it (using the green line for reference line)

Is the tool you use to make those neat GIFs free by any chance? 😛 It would definitely be a timesaverexplaining things to people in the office.

I used to use camtasia (free trial) but you can try

for free.

Or, offset the line 15, and draw a 15R circle from the end of the 60 line... the intersection of these two construction objects is the center of the arc.

Re: Gif, it's made with Camtasia Studio (not free)

The bottom figure is a little trickier, but here is a shortcut:

1.  Layout the locations of the round end (R1.5) and the rectangular end (4.00 x 1.50)

2.  Draw the R3.5 circle and place is so the 2 quadrants are together

Radii-1.JPG

3.  Draw a circle that is same center as the R1.5, but choose the end of the 1.5 line as the second point. (red circle)

Radii-2.JPG

4.  Rotate the R3.5 using the center of the red circle as the base point and use the intersection of the red circle with the R3.5 circle as the reference and rotate it to the intersection of the 1.50 line and the rec circle.

Hope this helps...

Thank you that worked perfectly.

It doesn't want to snap to the intersection of the red circle and the 1.5 line. I'm guessing there is something I'm missing in the controls. Any help?

Does this help?

Try this again. My attachments won't come thru.

That worked perfectly I had the radius at the wrong quadrant point. Thanks again for all your help

Just like I said, but different orientation...
