Selection first then right click not working

The answer to this post is not the pickfirst variable. I select text, a line, anything really then right click, copy and nothing it loses the selection set and waits for me to now select something. I know it sounds like pickfirst, but pickfirst is set to 1. Has anyone else encountered this? 2013 Autocad vanilla. All service packs and updates.

Your have right-click set to something else instead of shortcut menus (OPTIONS command's User Pref Tab, check box and customization options), or your right-click action is very slow (in AutoCAD that's a deselect option).
Did you load some new CUIx menu file or a must-have add-on?

I checked all that you suggested and they were not it. I have not installed anything new recently either. Thanks for the reply. If I figure it out I will post the solution. Even if I select a hatch, I get the contextual ribbon with the various hatch options but if i try to say change the pattern it kicks me back to the selction box. Vary strange. Maybe a repair install

That was it. I forgot all about that "undocumented variable". I must have run an old lisp that changed that. Thanks so much!

I'm having a similar problem.

1.  Select object

2.  Right click

3.  Menu appears

4. System automatically "cancels" selection

5. System request selct object.

Any Ideas?  I changed all the variable listed on this thread.  No help.

The following is the command line history.

Command: PICKadd

Enter new value for PICKADD <1>:

Command: PICKFIRst

Enter new value for PICKFIRST <1>:

Command:
Command: WallStyleEdit

Select walls: 1 found

Select walls:

The command "WallStyleEdit" was selected off the right click menu.

Normally it retains the selction and sarts the dialog box.  This is something brand new. Never saw anything like this.

As it is an AutoCAD Architecture issue, probably  will be easier to get help at the AutoCAD Architecture Forum.
