Selection Cycling not working on Circles ?

Computer Specs:

Win 7 64 bit 6 gig RAM

Autocad 2015 SP1 & SP2

AMD Firepro V3900 (Autodesk approved and most recent drivers)

I use Selection Cycling quite often and have depended  on it's accuracy (Mainly for confirming underlying objects)

Just discovered to day the Selection Cycling works with lines and polylines, but not with simple circles !

Is this "As Designed " ?

Can some please verify this. If not..........is there a setting to make this work ?

Thanks

Ron

No issue here using 2015 SP2  (SELECTIONCYCLING = 2)

Using 2015 here, and SC works fine with circles.

Ron, are you by chance using SelectionCycling while inside a command?  I know COMMANDPREVIEW can interfere with SC.

Celectioncyclingsetto (2)

No command active

Hovering over 4 circles no double badge appears, clicking on circles only one circle Grips appears

Hovering over 4 lines the double badge appears as it should, clicking opens a window listing all 4 lines.

Please see attached file to see if this behavior is is within my test drawing.

I know Slectioncycling is stored in the registry.

Here is my "Selection Options" if anyone sees a setting that may cause this behavior.

Try with Object Groups disabled.

I was hoping that was it..........but no help.

I just finished installing 2015 on one of my teams computer everthing the same as mine

Selectioncycling works as it should.

Could a Autodesk rep. please chime-in on this..........I'm along time Autocad user (25years) and have installed

and confiquered every version since. But can not fiqure this one out.

Really do not want to reinstall, but I may do a repair at last resort.

Here's some addtional information I have tested.

Selectioncycling works with :

Lines

Polylines

Arcs

Dimensions

Cloud lines

Splines

Rectangles

Leaders

Donuts

Ellipses

Does not work on:

Circles (Overlaping)

Circles with any of the above objects crossing over it

Note: No 3rd party add-ons installed

For Clarity to some: When I say does not work I'm talking about the small icon that apears when you hover over 2 overlaping objects that looks

like 2 small sheets of paper (Indication there are 2 objects crossing or hidden beneath it

Any and all help GREATLY Apreciated !

Here is an animation using 2015 here.

I create two circles on top of each other and you can see that SC is working, at least based on the "small icon that apears when you hover over 2 overlaping objects that looks like 2 small sheets of paper"

It does seem odd that SC works with arcs/splines and other curved objects, but not with circles.  I can't think of anything that would cause that other than a corrupt install or a conflict with something else on your particular machine.

Perhaps try toggling Hardware Acceleration off as an addtional test

Have you tested with a different/new AutoCAD profile?  (Options > Profiles)?

If nothing works, then I'd suggest resetting Autocad to default (which is undoable if you choose the option to back up your current settings)

Then repair

Then reinstall

Well i ran out of setting ideas for this.

I reset Autocad back to original install settings

Now my section cycling now works on circles.

Origanlly I had installed Autocad 2015.Then migrated 2014 settings (Tool Bars)

evendently I had some LISP roitines that may not have migrated with the tool bars I created.

This is what was causing the problem (Not sure Why)

So, I recerted all my tool bars within Autocad 2015 CUI.

All is working correctly now !

Thanks again for all your assistance with this issue.

Yeah, AutoCAD2015 and AutoCAD2015 verticals changed my opinion about migrating settings.

I migrated 2005 to 2011, and it worked perfectly  (that's six releases and the transition from mrn/mnu/mns etc to cui and it everything came across cleanly.

I migrated 2011 to 2012, and it worked perfectly

I migrated 2012 to 2013, and it worked perfectly

I migrated 2013 to 2014, and it worked perfectly

I migrated 2014 to 2015, and each time I had to blow away the migration and customize manually due to unexpected behaviors not related to user settings.

Thank you nestly !

i did almost the exact same thing you've done with out problems until now.

I love my tools bars ! I will stay with them as long as possible !

I have every command that I use either in one tool bar on the top

or 2 tool bars on the left & right.

I now edit the icons with color to help me identify them easier !

Thanks to ALL !

Ron

Hopeing 2016 is much better !
