Same Line Type Scale in Different Layouts or Viewports

Basically, when I look at the different layout sheets I want my linetype scale to be the same no matter what the viewport/layout scale is at. If its a dashed line....I want one dash to be the same length when printed from the same model space on a 1"=1" scale as a 1"=20' scale. How can I do this? Preferably I'd like it to show up on the screen...not just when printed.

PSLTSCALE = 1 \Viewport scaling governs linetype scaling. If TILEMODE is set to 0, dash lengths are based on paper space drawing units, even for objects in model space. In this mode, viewports can have varying magnifications, yet display linetypes identically. For a specific linetype, the dash lengths of a line in a viewport are the same as the dash lengths of a line in paper space. You can still control the dash lengths with LTSCALE.

Say for instance there are two viewports in paper space.
One viewport is an "overall" model and the other is a
partial (extreme) closeup of this overall. You want the
linetype scale of the closeup "less grainy" than the overall.
Currently this cannot be done.

PSLTSCALE = 1 will only even out the line types between
viewports and linetypes on the paper space itself - all will
look the same. No good.

However, between layout tabs, one wants to change the
linetype scaling (one tab is a 1/8 scale drawing, the other
is 1/2 scale). This can be done manually, but who would
remember to do this? As far as batch printing - forget it.

A third party program can do the task for you, but I have
not seen one yet. I only have initial thoughts (pre-alpha)
on how to do this with reactors, but nothing written down
yet. Too busy.

If you set PSLTSCALE to 1, and adjust the ltscale to the desired
look while in paper space, then when switched to model space
the line types will look continuous. No good. Again, a third
party program might help, but I have not seen one yet.

My wish list for improvements is discussed in the first paragraph.

I'm not sure what is meant by "less grainy". Do you mean the .pdf is grainy in the close-up? That may be a plotter or .pdf setting which needs to be adjusted. I can plot at any scale and the lines will plot the same quality in .pdf or directly to paper.

This is not how it works here. What happens with the lines in model space when regen? Something tells me you have zoomed way out then back in and the lines aren't updated to the zoom factor. Try a regen.
