I have recently had to repath a whole bunch of project data from one place to another.. However have run into a strange snag when it comes to images..
The reference manager seems to repath the images correctly. But at the same time unloads them inside the dwg!!!!
So now all my images across 30,000 dwg's have been unloaded..
Repath Successful!!!
Image Unloaded in dwg!?????
Oof, that stinks. At least it's not 31,000 drawings.
And at least you are aware of Reference Manager...
I have noticed images act strange when they are in Xrefs. They don't seem to behave all the time when unloading an image that's nexted in an xref. It seems to reload next time I open the file. But I've not noticed this lately (last few years, anyway).
Is the image nested in an xref? Like the .PNG is in the logo Xref?
Sorry to say I have no advice unless you edit your ACADdoc.lsp file to reload the image, then just open or publish all those drawings.
You may try with BatchInDatabase tool to reload imges without opening them and you can use command "Xref-Redirect" which maintains the laod status on images.
Thanks Abubakars, probably would have been better if i just repathed using BathInDatabase maybe it wouldn't have unloaded the images
As for having to reload the images using it. That might be a bad idea. A lot of files have images that should remain unloaded. So i cant jsut go an turn everything back on, when some are supposed to stay off.
Yeah some of them are nested, however i only added first level xrefs. Which means it wont repath that image, unless i add the xref its contained in.
I just did a test on one dwg with an image reference. it definately just unloads the image either way.
ACADDOC file might load in images that I want to remain unloaded, so this isnt really solution.
This is definately a bug,,
