anyone know the command that turns on the window that would display the whole dwg in the upper right portion of the screen.you could pan ,zoom . the field of drawing would change , but the pop window would display the whole dwg and show where u were in respect to your drawing?

its been yrs since ive used autocad and this was before the wheel.

any suggestion would be appreciated

I think your talking about the aerial viewer (DSVIEWER) which is no longer part of AutoCAD...

 

I think (someone will know for definite) it was done away at AutoCAD 2012.

Type in a period in front of the command and see it for yourself.

i tried it .cool it works, thanks guys greatly appreciated. but when i didi look up acad2012 things removed it did say dsviewer. guess thats why they added the period before it.

thats why i love this forum. always learning things

By placing a period in front you bypass the "users side" of the command and therefore access the command directly.
Try the command REDEFINE and enter DSVIEWER.
