I would really like autocad to use the path of the files being published to open that folder when selecting a folder to save the PDF in. Instead of opening my documents forder. Also, when converting dwgs using dwg convert, it would save a great amount of time if it would start me in the same folder as the files are saved. Same thing for selecting an xref, if a file is saved in a certain folder it should look there first instead of the last place it remembers.
Another thing about the open file dialog box... when you go back one folder, It would be great if it would stay selected on the previous folder selected instead of starting you all the way at the beginning again. I have many job folders, and some I need to go back and forth between to find the right one when they are similar job names. This would be just like using windows explorer.

Are you using Windows 7? If so, make use of the "Favorites"
Also, in AutoCAD, make use of the "Places" (shown in this post):

REMEMBERFOLDERS = 1 ?

The default path in each standard file selection dialog box is the last path used in that dialog box. The Start In folder specified for the AutoCAD shortcut icon is not used.

If your using sheet sets - publish to pdf path can be specified in the projects sheet set settings.
What I want, personally, is a 'dynamic place' that always returns / opens the folder the current drawing is in.
instead of a defined folder, I would want DWGPREFIX to be evaluated everytime any given dialog that accesses the file system opens.

ArcMap has this in their file dialogs, and our ArcMap users remind me of this every time they have to use AutoCAD....
I just use this and drag+drop the drawings (or copy+paste the path)
