Outrageous File Size

Very strange problem here.

I have a number of files that have grown from less than 1MB to 15MB and more.

It's happening when I copy something from one of the large files into a smaller file.  The copy or cut process takes about 7 seconds to finally compute, instead of being instantaneous like in a smaller drawing.

It's not a specific object that I'm copying, though.  I even tried drawing a new basic line and when I paste it into the smaller file, the file size explodes.

I've audited, purged and -purged numerous times, but nothing works.  Even when I delete everything from the file so it's completely empty, it's still some ridiculous size.

Ideas?

check non-purgable items, look for uStan elements, and if they are there, run DGNPurge to get rid of them,

thanks, JGerth.

I'm not sure what uStan elements are, but I tried typing DGNPURGE into the command line and it says the command doesn't exist. That normal? I have AutoCAD 2014.

I think that should be "uStn", aka "MicroStation".  There's been a bit of a problem with MicroStation linetypes not purging properly.

That's the solution I've been looking for!  Thank you!
