OLE OBJECT WITH WORD

Hi,

I want to insert a word document with several pages in autocad by the OLE OBJECT function. The problem is the insert only the first page. How to follow the other pages?

Thanks

Save each page in separate word document?

The only way I've found to do it is to save the word doc as a PDF and then insert it as a PDF underlay

If you only want to use AutoCAD and Windows OLE, your only choice is one page at a time for each OLE. Or the PDF idea posted above (there are some difficulties with that one IMHO).

If you truly need the entire document in one single step, and do it all the time, you'll have to purchase a third party tool: there are many but the only one I can think of right now is this http://dotsoft.com/word2cad.htm (they also have an Excel version).

Not if you want that active/live link, no.

If you do not need special Word formatting, you could try using RTEXT.

Save your MSword doc to a .TXT file.

Run the RTEXT command, use the FILE option, pick the TXT file.

If the TXT file changes, a REGEN will update the object in AutoCAD.

Do need to have the doc linked?

I find with excel it is easier to highlight the section needed and then paste into the drawing.

You will still have the option to edit the xls/doc via OLE option from within the drawing.

I have had little success linking docs to drawings.
