Object Snapping in 3D

Running AutoCAD Mechanical 2013.

The object snapping behaves as if OSNAPZ = 1.  I am unable to take distances from points that are not z = 0.

In the drafting options tab "Replace Z value with current elevation" makes no difference checked or unchecked.

Could be useful if you can attach an example

The variable OSNAPZ drives the options "replace Z value wit current elevation", so you can change its value by the variable value or by checking/unchecking the option in the Options->Drafting

So, lets say, if you have a line with first point = 0,0,0 and second point = 1000,0,500

with OSNAPZ = 0 if you run DIST and select the two points the result will be:

Distance = 1118.0340, Angle in XY Plane = 0, Angle from XY Plane = 27
Delta X = 1000.0000, Delta Y = 0.0000, Delta Z = 500.0000

with OSNAPZ = 1:

Distance = 1000.0000, Angle in XY Plane = 0, Angle from XY Plane = 0
Delta X = 1000.0000, Delta Y = 0.0000, Delta Z = 0.0000

as you can see different results, depends on what you expect

Here is the link to our help about OSNAPZ behaviour:
