I edited the linetype file (acad.lin) to create a "sewage line" ----SS----SS----SS----
I copied the "fence line"
*FENCEMG,----X----X----X----X----X----
A,.5,-.1,["X",STANDARD,S=.1,U=0.0,X=0.0,Y=-.05],-.3
and edited it to
*SEWAGE_LINE,sewage line ----SS----SS----SS----SS----SS----
A,.5,-.2,["SS",STANDARD,S=.1,R=0.0,X=-0.1,Y=-.05],-.2
But instead of getting the 2 SS' in the line, I'm getting the X
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mark

Thanks for the reply Doni,
I did resave the file. take a look at the screen shot I've attached.
The linetype managere dialog box shows, description ___SS____SS___SS
but, the Appearance shows the ___x___x___x
Pretty freaky, It's got me puzzled.
Thanks for your time.

After seeing your screenshot, I really think it's #2.
Open a new dwg file, add your SS linetype to it. Does it work there?
If yes, the lin file is ok. So now go back to your dwg file and reload the linetype (pretend the linetype isn't already defined in the file and then when acad asks if you want to redefine the existing linetype, answer YES.

Hey Don,
Got another one you may be able to give somw assistance to?
I wanna make a line type with diamonds in it instead of the ss or x.
I found this line def but I need to set it's parameters to rotate it 45 degrees:
Not sure how to do this?
*DIAMOND_LINE,diamond line ---<>---<>---<>---<>---<>---<>---<>---
A,.001,-.2,["><",STANDARD,S=.105,R=0.0,X=-0.11,Y=-.0457],-.00001
Thanks
