Is there a reason you are not using the new Viewbase command (in paperspace layout)?

Try it from the Layout tab on the ribbon.

Notice that you can create associative orthographic projected views, section views and detail views.

I'd recommend doing some reading on the function first so you aren't completely lost.

Attach the file here that exhibits this behavior.

Is there anything in the file?

Are you using vanilla AutoCAD?

In Options, make sure the folder C:\Program Files\Autodesk\AutoCAD 2014\Support\en-us is defined in the AutoCAD support file search path.

The file mvsetup.lsp could be corrupted.

APPLOAD and manually load it, if it still doesn't work, repair your autocad.

From what I remember, it has a few limitations - like expecting the user to have write access to the folder its in.

That's right. Upon loading, MVSETUP utilizes the first folder defined in the Acad search path (acadprefix) as the place to create the file called "mvsetup.dfs". If this folder is read-only, then the file cannot be created.

I am having same problem as you are. I have no need for viewbase command since I don't have any Inventor file, and dealing with flat-out 2D.

Right click on screen and select OPTIONS

go to PROFILES tab

change your Current profile: (shown above the tabs at top left) to a different profile

click OK try mvsetup, it should work again.

Go back into OPTIONS-PROFILES and change back to your original Profile click OK,

mvsetup should be working again in your original profile.
